air raids

by john reeder
(3212 Vista-Danville Il 61832)

In world war 1 and 2 civilans had to comply with blackout requests--(such as closing curtains, etc.) But when air raids occured (as in London) the search lights were all over. Why weren't they a blackout violation themselves? Why didn't they actually help the German bobmbers? john reeder

The search lights were used to locate the German planes in the sky so the Anti Aircraft guns could fire on them, and try to bring them down.
