UNITED KINGDOM FLIGHT SCHOOL DIRECTORY

Plymouth Flying School - The Private Pilot’s Licence You will learn to fly in a Cessna 152 two seat aircraft or a Piper PA28 four seat aircraft following the recognised syllabus to a standard required for the issue of the Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL). The minimum flying training requirement is 45 hours.

Your early training will involve general handling exercises followed by takeoff and landing practice, culminating in your first solo flight.

After a period of consolidation you will be trained in navigation techniques, visiting other airports in Southern England. At the end of the course there is a flying skill test.

The syllabus includes seven written examinations in aviation related subjects and a practical radio communications test. All tests and examinations can be taken at Plymouth Flying School.

An aviation medical will be required before flying solo.

Night & Instrument qualifications can be added to this licence.

Stapleford Flight Centre - Stapleford Flight Centre (SFC), along with the airfield itself, is a privately-owned and family-run business. Established in 1969, SFC has been training private and professional airline pilots for over forty years.

We also operate modern flight simulators capable of replicating PA31, PA34, PA28 and the DA42 aircraft. Our own maintenance facilities ensure that aircraft are kept in top condition, with snags rectified promptly.

The airfield has both grass and hard runways for year-round operations and the Lambourne VOR is on the airfield. We offer comfortable accommodation on the airfield including a licensed clubhouse and restaurant.

Edinburgh Flying Club - A member’s owned club providing high standards of training to PPL/Night/IMC level at a busy regional airport in controlled airspace.
