How old do you have to be to get a pilots license in Pennsylvania?

There is no state requirement for an age limit on a pilots license. However, there is an age limit which is standard right across the United States. It is governed by the FAA.

The FAA says you must be at least 16 years old to fly solo with a student pilot certificate, and 17 years old to get a pilot's license. There is no upper age limit, provided that you are healthy enough to pass the basic medical exam.
