Commercial Pilot Training UK - JAA Commercial Pilot License

Commercial Pilot Training UK (JAA)

The requirements for a commercial pilot license in Europe is slightly different then in the United States. Most flight schools do your instrument rating (IFR) and multi engine rating (ME) at the same time as you are doing your commercial pilot training.

With this method you only have to do one flight exam but you walk away with a multi engine rating, a multi engine IFR rating, as well as a commercial pilot license. Not too shabby in my books.

Depending on the flight school’s program you do approximately 130 hours of flight time before you get the commercial pilot license.

Seeing as most students, who are in the process of studying for a commercial pilot license, in Europe are doing so because they want a career as a pilot, they usually follow the above described route and can therefore get away with less flight hours and therefore a little cheaper in cost as well.
